Emergency medical services, such as those run by the Palestine Red Crescent Society and a number of health NGOs, have been particularly targeted.
Crhis Paul Giannou, Director of the Nabativa Hospital of the Palestine Red Crescent Society and the Sidon Hospital in Lebanon, said that following the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 1982, he was taken prisoner by the Israeli forces, together with two Norwegian doctors and some 150 Lebanese, Plaestinians and medical staff of other nationalities.
