When fully completed, Harrison MetroCentre will be a city within a city that features wide boulevards with street level retail outlets and cafes, an entertainment area with the new Red Bull Park as its centerpiece, a riverfront park and recreation area, as well as other amenities that will make Harrison MetroCentre an exciting place to live, work and play.
The economic benefits of park and recreation areas are manifold, but one of the most significant is the increase in value of private land adjacent or near protected public land.
More importantly, long-standing statutory protections for historic sites, park and recreation areas, wildlife refuges and waterfowl areas, known in the law as Section 4(f), were protected from encroachments by the powerful transportation lobbyist groups.
