|5~ The Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) is an example of a temporary enterostomy procedure that can be performed on an outpatient basis in an endoscopy unit or ambulatory surgery with intravenous sedation and local anesthesia.
PEG devices are percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy ("PEG") tubes, which are endoscopically inserted through the skin for feeding directly into a patient's stomach.
