In the ADRD project, we reviewed the telepractice pamphlets from the regional professional associations, the Federal Privacy Act and Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act, and the proposed Provincial Personal Health Information Act (College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, 2001; Office of Health and the Information Highway, 2004).
The government is expected to introduce the Personal Health Information Act in spring 2009.
The Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) (21) came into force even before the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) (22) in Manitoba.
