Hikers with a personal locator beacon recently prompted a helicopter rescue when they ran out of water.
3) PLBs: Personal locator beacons are highly useful to adventurous people who go hiking or on trips far away from human settlements.
The new device is the Sarbe Advanced Aircrew Personal Locator Beacon (AAPLB) and is the same as that specified by the UK Ministry of Defense.
