Gaithersburg, MD; 240-632-5510), a leading gene therapy company, announced that it has obtained an exclusive license to Pigment Epithelium-Derived Factor from Northwestern University (Evan-ston, IL) for all ocular gene therapy applications.
Nasdaq:GNVC) announced today that it has received a grant from the National Eye Institute (NEI), of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), to explore mechanisms regulating pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF), a key regulator of blood vessel growth in the eye.
AdPEDF is an adenoviral-based vector containing the gene for human pigment epithelium-derived factor (PEDF), a protein found in the eye that normally regulates blood vessel growth in the eye and protects the cells of the retina from damage.
