The goldenhaired pine bark beetle, Hylurgus ligniperda, is a native of Kairomonal responses of Coleoptera, Monochamus titallator (Cerambycidae), Thanasimus dubius (Cleridae), and Temnochila virescens (Trogossitidae), to behavioral chemicals of southern pine bark beetles (Coleoptera: Scolytidae). It is believed that pine bark beetles account for more damage to Southern timber than any other type of insect. |
