WASHINGTON -- A new House bill proposes to prohibit the manufacture after July 1, 2010 of "electroindustry products" that contain lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBBs) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) above the maximum concentration levels specified in the European Union's RoHS Directive. WASHINGTON -- A new House bill proposes to prohibit the manufacture after July 1,2010, of "electroindustry products" that contain lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls ("PBBs"), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers ("PBDEs") above the maximum concentration levels specified in the European Union's RoHS Directive. OBJECTIVES: Our goal was to characterize levels of seven PBDE congeners, polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB)-153, and polybrominated biphenyl (PBB)-153 in plasma from 24 pregnant women of Mexican descent living in an agricultural community in California. |
