The plant will use state-of-the-art emission controls, showcasing the cleanest, most efficient coal-fired power technology in the world, including the transport gasifier technology that Southern Company, KBR, DOE and others have been developing at the Power Systems Development Facility near Wilsonville, Ala.
Located at the DOE's Power Systems Development Facility in Wilsonville, Alabama and managed and operated by Southern Company, the NCCC works with scientists and technology developers from government, industry and universities to conduct testing and analyses in power plant settings, at sizes large enough to provide meaningful performance data under real operating conditions.
