Mary Anne Williams worked as a practice nurse before undertaking her current position with the LCDGP five years ago and is now studying for a Masters in Public Health. Kirsten Carey in her letter in last month's issue "Practice nurse does not need liberating" (p4) is quite correct in advising that practice nurses are professionals who endeavour to work alongside GPs to deliver "best practice" care and who are providing, in ever increasing numbers, care at an advanced level. The subject of men's health and the role of the practice nurse are growing areas in primary care. |
