Tokyo, Japan, Sept 11, 2006 - (JCN Newswire) - Fujitsu Laboratories Limited today announced that quantum dot laser technology from Fujitsu Laboratories Limited, QD Laser, Inc. Although scientists envision quantum dots in a variety of applications, the toxicity of their starting materials could limit their use, notes Ya-Ping Sun of Clemson University in South Carolina. In addition, AIST successfully synthesized avidin- or biotin-conjugated quantum dots, and by combinig both quantum dot hybrid materials, dramatically enhanced the sensitivity of antibody-based detection of proteins. |
