One year after the acclaimed documentary series TransGeneration introduced us to four transitioning college students, we catch up with Raci, Gabbi, Lucas, and T. Jones and Raci play off other very well as Jones nimbly moves through the significant moments in his life, including his attendance at the Missouri School for the Deaf, his encounter with the draft board officer who refused to believe he had a disability, his college years and his eventual decision to become an actor. It is true that Chicago-a city plagued by a long history of raci al and economic segregation- has a long way to go in ensuring that low-income families have access to neighborhoods that provide opportunity. |
