Russ Rinn, president and CEO of the newly named CMC Steel Group, says, "For years the more than 11,000 employees in the CMC family have operated in over 150 worldwide operations, utilizing many different business names with different logos. In 1938, Hanawalt, Rinn, and Frevel (1) were the first to report tabulated data on diffraction patterns of 1000 chemical substances; they also gave a scheme of classification which made possible a routine and valuable use in the chemical laboratory of the Hull method of x-ray analysis which was published in 1919 (2). Nathan admired "the vocation of a male high school teacher like Murray Ringold, who wasn't lost in the amorphous American aspiration to make it big," but Murray's simpler brother Ira - who did make it big, as the radio star Iron Rinn - was the man who became his hero. |
