According to the Academy of Sciences of the Royal Society of Canada (1985), evolution is "the only explanation for the diversity of life on this planet that is acceptable to the scientific community". However, a 1999 expert panel report by the Royal Society of Canada noted holes in current understanding, and added, "It is possible that users of wireless telecommunication devices, including cellphones, may experience exposures of sufficient intensity to cause biological effects, although these biological effects are not known to be associated with adverse health effects.
