The integrated system operates on the ruggedized handheld computer (RHC) and the standalone computer unit (SCU). A wireless mobile computing system developed for the City of San Jose that uses the ruggedized handheld computer from Intermec (NYSE:IN) has been named an Exhibitor Best Solution at this year's GTC West Conference, being held today through May 18 in Sacramento, Calif. Although this newer replacement called the ruggedized handheld computer (RHC) could meet many customer requirements, its form, weight, power consumption and unit cost made it only marginally desirable for dismounted warriors. |
