0, Atmel's GPS chipset is now capable of receiving SBAS (Satellite Based Augmentation Systems) signals from multiple geostationary satellites such as WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System) in the USA or EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigational Overlay System) in Europe simultaneously. According to Tony Murfin, NovAtel's VP Business Development, "Following on the most recent WAAS contract announced in March for SBAS equipment in support of India's Geostationary Earth Orbit Augmented Navigation (GAGAN) program (see NovAtel press release issued March 8, 2005), this latest award continues NovAtel's push as the only supplier for WAAS-type network receiver equipment. The DG16 is a 16 channel receiver with 12 GPS L1 code and carrier channels, 2 SBAS channels and 2 300 KHz DGPS beacon channels. |
