The SCEC report estimated seismic hazard by looking at the rate of past earthquakes, the geology of faults, and ground movement. Jill Andrews, director of knowledge transfer for SCEC, said the session was designed to encourage the emergency management community ``to integrate information from these technologies into their planning. ``This is a discussion that has been going on within the geological community in Southern California for almost a year now,'' said SCEC geologist Jim Dolan. |
