His magical scene transformations of overlapping moving scrims once again work as they should. More than 7,500 square feet of digitally printed translucent scrim will wrap around the installation; and nearly one mile of cable will be used to "wire" the exhibit and its more than 50 Samsung LCD screens as well as other televisions. A scrim printed with a photograph of the Manhattan skyline at night hangs over a window facing Wilshire Boulevard, creating a disorienting shift of reality while also referencing Magritte's use of windows in his paintings. |
