The radiation came from an explosion on the neutron star SGR 1806-20.
The result is that the SGR equals the return on equity.
A slew of telescopes, many of which were temporarily blinded by the outburst, traced the explosion to the strongly magnetic neutron star SGR 1806-20, which lies in the Milky Way an estimated 50,000 light-years from Earth.
