The Pilot 2006 EPI study was conducted jointly by the Yale University Center for Environmental Law & Policy and the Columbia University Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN) in collaboration with the World Economic Forum and the Joint Research Center of the European Commission (Yale University Environmental Performance Index, 2006.
