Dixon was one of five epidemiologists who came to California from the University of Pittsburgh in 1961 to create a department of experimental pathology at the Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation that later became the core of the Research Institute. She most recently served as vice president, clinical and regulatory affairs at Quidel, prior to which she was with Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation, the Spun-off in 1990 from Scripps Clinic and Research Foundation (formed in the 1920s), the non-profit organization conducts basic biomedical research and post-graduate education in the life sciences, particularly in the fields of molecular biology, cell biology and chemistry. |
