Although we did not employ such measurements as skinfold thickness to estimate total body fat and obesity, (14,15) our nurses stated that the vast majority of our HRG children and adolescents appeared fat rather than excessively muscular. Missing data were minimal: Height was unavailable four times, sitting height 14 times, weight seven times, triceps skinfold thickness four times, and subscapular skinfold thickness seven times. Measurements of height, weight, mid-upper arm circumference (MAC) and triceps skinfold thickness (TSF) were taken by a trained investigator on one occasion. |
