The 22-foot-long X-40A was built by Boeing for the Air Force's Space Maneuver Vehicle program, an effort to build a spacecraft that could serve as a reusable satellite and that could perform reconnaissance missions. The X-40A was originally developed by Boeing for the Air Force's space maneuver vehicle program. One such program is the Air Force Research Laboratory's Space Maneuver Vehicle, which could stay in orbit up to a year, not only spying on enemy ground forces but slipping up close to orbiting satellites to identify what they are doing. |
