After the war, he was named Vice President in charge of Marketing (West of Suez) for Caltex Petroleum Corporation, jointly owned by Texaco and Standard Oil Company of California (the original name for Chevron Corporation). Caltex was formed in 1936 as a joint venture between the Texas Oil Company (now Texaco) and the Standard Oil Company of California (now Chevron) and continues to be jointly owned by Chevron and Texaco. Earlier, he was an engineer with Standard Oil Company of California (now Chevron Corporation). |
