In 2008, DGS delivered operational excellence and customer service that prompted existing customers to exercise options on all key contracts: the Subsistence Prime Vendor food contract for Iraq and Kuwait; the Defense Distribution Depot Kuwait, Southwest Asia (DDKS); and the Heavy Lift VI contract to move supplies and equipment in and out of Iraq.
Agility brings to this assignment expertise and capabilities gained through the company's other major programs, including Subsistence Prime Vendor contract for which Agility supplies and distributes food to US forces in Iraq.
Several existing programs may be useful to USDA as models in implementing the new country-of-origin labeling law, including USDA's school meals programs and the Department of Defense's Subsistence Prime Vendor Program, which rely on contract certifications and compliance visits to verify origin.
