This is a research facility that can produce a realistic synthetic battlefield to evaluate operational concepts.
While the two installations are approximately 50 miles apart, JTEP technology allowed military teams to train jointly on a synthetic battlefield where a computer generated armored unit engaged "real" armored vehicles and soldiers assembled for a weekend training exercise.
The new system will feature an interoperative warfighting training simulation in which virtual and live players from unit level to commanders in chief collaborate in rehearsing on a synthetic battlefield.
