Byline: Maher Zeineddine Summary: Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblatt met with Syrian Social Nationalist Party leader MP Assaad Hardanne on Monday evening to discuss recent developments on the Lebanese political scene, in addition to means to counter Israeli threats.
These include the Shi'ite Hizbullah movement and militias such as the Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP) and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine--General Command headed by former Syrian army officer Ahmed Jibril.
In the case of Omar Harqous, the Syrian Social Nationalist Party issued a statement in which it claims that the incident had been a personal one, and that the member, or members, accused had been turned over to the judicial authorities for investigation.
