Simon will forever be known as "the man who cut the rope" - the story retold in Joe's bestselling book and the Bafta award-winning film, Touching the Void.
With a reputation as one of the most successful exploratory mountaineers in the world, and having famously featured in Joe Simpson's biography and subsequent award-winning documentary Touching The Void, Simon describes his show Beyond the Void as "amazing tales from an incredible life lived to the full".
Simon first became known as "the man who cut the rope" holding Joe Simpson during a disastrous descent from Peru's Siula Grande in 1985, a story immortalised in the film Touching The Void.
