The Trans Texas Corridor (TTC), already under construction, will be part of the system. AB 2290 is modeled on similar efforts in other states, such as the Trans Texas Corridor, where the state actually generated revenue by auctioning off the right to finance, design, build and operate a four-lane toll road stretching over 600 miles from Mexico to Oklahoma. The plans for the stages of the NAFTA superhighway in Texas, called the Trans Texas Corridor, call for the corridor to bypass major cities in Texas, doing little to alleviate traffic congestion--hence doing little to solve a legitimate traffic problem in the United States and almost nothing to help us compete internationally. |
