The Transtheoretical Model (TTM), which integrates principles of behavior change from over 300 theories of psychotherapy, may provide a useful framework for examining the adoption of sexual behavior (Prochaska, Redding, & Evers, 2002). Prochaska and DiClemente, named it the Transtheoretical Model (2, 3). The Mujeres Felices intervention was grounded in behavior change theories, including the Transtheoretical Model (Prochaska & DiClemente, 1992) and Social Cognitive Theory (SCT; Bandura, 1986) providing strategies for tailoring the intervention to the individual. |
