She received an Idaho State Bar Outstanding Service Award in 2003, the Girl Scouts Women of Today and Tomorrow Award in 2003, and the YWCA Tribute to Women in Industry award in 1995.
She is the recipient of the Florida State Institute of Certified Public Accountant's Distinguished Speaking Award, the Tribute to Women in Industry (TWIN) Award, the Hamilton Jaycees Citizen of the Year Award, the Hamilton Area YMCA's Person of the Year Award, and the Women's Fund Award for Professional Women.
Burnside received the 1992 Tribute to Women in Industry Award granted by the Santa Clara County YWCA and has been nationally recognized by Fortune magazine for her accomplishments in the areas of financial and operations management.
