The randomized clinical study of 374 eyes treated at five US centers validated that patients enrolled in either the wavefront-guided treatment group as well as the Wavefront Optimized group achieved similar visual results for uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), manifest refractive spheroequivalent (MRSE) and postoperative UCVA versus preoperative best spectacle visual acuity (BSCVA).
Wallace reported his 20/20 UCVA rate had increased to 94 percent from 84 percent for his first 65 myopic eyes (up to -7D), once able to use surgeon-specific data (requiring a 2-month minimum follow-up from first cases).
The study validated that both groups performed similarly for uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), manifest refractive spheroequivalent (MRSE) and postoperative UCVA versus preoperative best spectacle visual acuity (BSCVA).
