We are happy with the outcome of this case," said Jeffrey Grossman, Chief Executive Officer of UWMF.
We were merging two large and independent physician organizations and the importance of selecting the right software vendor could not be overstated," said Peter Christman, Executive VP of UWMF.
We are pleased that the Court ruled in favor of our organization to dismiss IDX's lawsuit," said Jeffrey Grossman, MD, UWMF President and CEO.
UWMF is the clinical practice organization for the faculty of the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison, WI.
Through its efforts to integrate its practice management systems, UWMF invited IDX and a number of other healthcare management companies to solicit its business.
After a two year due diligence process UWMF awarded a contract to Epic Systems Corporation.
UWMF comprises more than 800 faculty physicians who practice at more than 60 clinical locations in Wisconsin.
Having lost the UWMF computer system contract, IDX has resorted to litigation, suggesting that IDX trade secrets were shared with Epic.
As soon as IDX raised these concerns, UWMF looked into the matter and was working with IDX to exchange information in order to resolve IDX concerns.
UWMF is concerned that the IDX suit is trying to prevent UWMF from using a vendor that offers a higher quality, better functioning, more cost effective product.
