The Road to Ubar (1999), sheds light on the trade which originated in one of the harshest regions on earth. according to Professor Juris Zarins, an archaeologist and frankincense authority from Southwest Missouri State University, who discovered what is claimed to be the fabled lost city of Ubar in Oman's Dhofar province. The city, possibly the legendary Ubar, was a hub of trade along caravan routes to Mesopotamia and the Mediterranean (141:100). |
