Dell Computer and Hewlett-Packard agreed yesterday to load Sun Microsystems' version of the universal programming language Java on upcoming models of their personal computers. Unique to the industry, every WebEvent license includes full access to the source code, written in Perl, a universal programming language that operates on Windows, Unix and Macintosh servers. The language is widely used on Web sites, and Sun had hoped to make Java a universal programming language. |
