Cyberonics' vagus nerve stimulation, or VNS, device for treatment- resistant depression, or TRD, is the first implantable device approved in the United States for treatment of depression.
In keeping with world findings, this study found half the patients had a greater than 50% reduction and/or abolition of major seizure time, reinforcing that VNS is a safe and effective treatment, Ms Grimmer said.
