The experimental approach entailed fusing the mouse PPAR-[alpha] to the potent viral transcriptional activator VP16 under control of the liver-enriched activator protein (LAP) promoter, resulting in targeted constitutive expression of activated PPAR-[alpha] in hepatocytes. The protein, called VP16, acts as the gatekeeper for viral activity, new results in mice show. [3] The hypotheses in this experiment were after dosing U138 MG glioblastoma cells with VP16, cyclin B1 expression will increase in the presence of caffeine, and cyclin B1 expression will decrease in the presence of genistein. |
