GL Court, E London A THIS was the nickname for an experimental vertical-take-off-and-land (VTOL) plane, the prototype for the world's first VTOL aircraft, the Harrier jump jet, which first flew in 1966. His aim was to invent a personal VTOL aircraft (vertical take-off and landing, the same as used in Harrier Jump Jets). The Eagle VTOL aerial rescue platform's design is based on a ducted fan technology, powered by a number of internal combustion engines, on top of which a double-deck occupied area is mounted. |
