Fleming's (2001) VARK typology proposes that students have a preferred learning modality (visual, aural, read/write or kinaesthetic) with some learners being multimodal.
First, unlike much of the existing research that relies on personality type as a proxy for learning style, we use the VARK (Visual, Aural, Read/ write and Kinesthetic) inventory as our learning style indicator (2).
