He invented Small Aperture Satellites in 1981, and Very Small Aperture Satellites in 1987.
Prior to CIENA, Chaddick was Vice President of Engineering at AT&T Tridom, an early leader in very small aperture satellite terminal systems, a company he co-founded in 1983.
