Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) and HBO Theater co-hosted a spectacular evening in New York City on Oct. A corner of the park became a makeshift memorial of wreaths and crosses, where the local Vietnam Veterans of America chapter offered a helmet that saw action in Fallujah, Iraq, in November 2004. Joining Senator McCain with initial responses are: Bobby Muller, president of the Vietnam Veterans of America Foundation and a Marine infantry officer during the Vietnam War wounded in action; Jack Valenti, lobbyist, long-time president of the Motion Picture Association of America and decorated World War II veteran who served in the Johnson White House during the Vietnam War; and Tom Newcomb of Oxford University, a Vietnam veteran and former CIA agent, Capitol Hill aide and White House adviser. |
