According to research conducted by guest speaker, Andy Overbay, Virginia Cooperative Extension, half of the students surveyed in his study had decided what they wanted to do for a living between first and ninth grade. To meet the requirements of the grant, ACA Virginias collaborated with the 4-H youth development department of Virginia Cooperative Extension at Virginia Tech to provide measurable evidence regarding whether or not the desired outcomes were achieved.
