In an effort to deal with the problem of uninsured low-income patients, in February, 2004, the California Hospital Association (CHA) adopted Voluntary Principles and Guidelines. These policies include two codes promoted by the Department of State--the Voluntary Principles for Security and Human Rights and the OECD Guidelines. In 2005, ExxonMobil introduced its Framework on Security and Human Rights for implementing the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights in seven countries: Angola, Cameroon, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Indonesia, Nigeria, and Venezuela. |
