Congressional district director Lisa Pinto greeted the WIB contingent of Mary Hughes-Thompson, Karin Pally, Greta Berlin and Joy Farmer, a UCLA doctoral student in political science who had been evacuated days earlier from Lebanon, where she was conducting graduate research. ``With this event, we hope to awaken the education community to the importance of work force preparation, engage school board members in providing work force education to every student and show business leaders how they can partner with the school system to produce more qualified workers,'' said Elaine Crandall, executive director of the WIB and emcee for the event.
