Carl Monday has been a fixture in Cleveland television news, at WJW TV-8 from 1979 until 2001 and now at WKYC TV-3. The Moonglows first gained notice in 1952 after disc jockey Alan Freed, whose "Moondog Rock 'n' Roll Party" program on Cleveland's WJW was a powerful influence, renamed the group and created the Champagne label for them. Since 1999, DIRECTV has been offering its customers in the Cleveland DMA access to a local channel package that includes WEWS (ABC), WOIO (CBS), WKYC (NBC), WUAB (UPN) and WJW (FOX) for $5. |
