Peter Alesso and research engineer Craig Smith, Developing Semantic Web Services presents the complete Language Pyramid of Web markup languages, including Resource Description Framework (RDF), Web Ontology Language (OWL) and OWL-Services (OWL-S), along with numerous examples and software demos.
This is the Web Ontology Language (OWL) (W3C, OWL, 2003), which in turn is building upon the DAML+OIL (DAML+OIL, 2001) specification developed by DARPA.
Additionally, the solution uses the Resource Description Framework (RDF) and Web Ontology Language (OWL) standards from the World-Wide Web Consortium, enabling a standards-based approach to providing 360 degree view of any concept regardless of the underlying information sources.
