Under the terms of the agreement, Level 3 will boost the capacity it delivers to WiscNet from 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps.
Members included public health staff from the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services, the University of Wisconsin [university information technology staff (UW-DoIT)], WiscNet (networking provider), University of Wisconsin Medical School, and Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene); other state agencies; local public health services; hospitals, the health insurance industry; and the Wisconsin business community.
The conference was sponsored by the CICNET and nine cooperating state communications networks or organizations: netILLINOIS, INDNet, IREN, MichNet, MRnet, NYSERNet, PREPnet, WiscNet, and WVNET More than 200 people from all over the United States and Canada attended the conference.
