The study also explored users' and providers' knowledge of the childcare component of the Working Tax Credit as a means for paying for child care.
Apart from people who wouldn't have been eligible for working tax credit because of the hours they worked, it doesn't make work pay as much as the previous system.
The data shows that more than nine in 10 (92%) working tax credit households in the region will be worse off.
