The World Health Organization reports the number of individuals with diabetes globally will reach about 366 million in 2030, an increase from 171 million individuals in 2000. The World Health Organization warns that a virtually untreatable form of tuberculosis has emerged and can now be found in the United States, Eastern Europe, and Africa. The World Health Organization (WHO), International Labour Organization and International Organization for Migration have launched a 'Treat, Train, Retain' plan to increase the number of health care workers, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa and Asia where 57 countries face crippling workforce shortages. |
