The memory can be write protected by either hardware or software, with a protection granularity of sectors (64 kbytes) for the whole memory area and sub sectors (4 kbytes) inside the sector 0 and the sector 15. Write protection works with the hardware write protection pin to define which memory array segment is write protected. When the block-protection feature is enabled, the top or bottom 16 KByte block (four sectors) is permanently write protected and cannot be erased or reprogrammed. |
